<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment method which reduces dioxins contained in exhaust gas and fly ash, and can cut down the total amount of dioxins discharged from an incinerator. SOLUTION: In an exhaust gas treatment method in which exhaust gas discharged from an incinerator 1 is treated by a dust removing apparatus 2 at 450 deg.C or above to remove dust, the treated exhaust gas is burned in a waste heat boiler 4 to recover heat, and harmful substances left in the exhaust gas are removed, fly ash collected by the dust removing apparatus 2 is introduced into an organochlorine compound decomposing apparatus 3 connected with the fly ash outlet of the apparatus 2, the fly ash in the apparatus 3 is held at 300 deg.C or above, organochlorine compounds contained in the fly ash are decomposed to reduce the discharge of dioxins. Superheated steam of at least 300 deg.C can be introduced into the apparatus 3, high temperature steam obtained by the waste heat boiler can be used as the superheated steam, and an alkali and aluminum powder can be added into the apparatus 3.</p> |
