PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actively illuminate the inside of a rotary tub used for both washing and dehydration and to contribute to the prevention of forgetting to take out laundry. SOLUTION: Inside an outer tub 2, the rotary tub 4 to be rotated by a driving mechanism 11 is disposed. A light transmission part 17 is formed on the sidewall part of the rotary tub 4 and an illumination device 18 is disposed on a position facing the rotation track of the light transmission part 17 in the rotation state of the rotary tub 4 on the side face of the outer tub 2. A position sensor 23 is composed of a permanent magnet 23a fixed to the outer bottom surface of the rotary tub 4 and a lead switch 23b disposed at the position facing the rotation track of the permanent magnet 23 at the bottom part of the outer tub 2. Based on output from the position sensor 23, the stop position of the rotary tub 4 is controlled to be the reference position of making the light transmission part 17 face the illumination device 18.
