PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oral cavity composition having a reduced bitter taste by adding a polyoxyethylenepolyoxypropylene copolymer to a pentylene glycol or an octylene glycol. SOLUTION: This composition for oral cavities contains (A) a pentylene glycol (for example, 1,2-pentylene glycol) or (B) an octylene glycol (for example, 1,2-octylene glycol). Therein, (C) a polyoxyethylenepolyoxypropylene copolymer, preferably the copolymer wherein the ethylene oxide units are contained in an amount of >=50% based on the total polymer and wherein the mol.wt. of the polypropylene glycol unit is >=1,400 [for example, Pluronic (trade name)] is added to the composition. The component A or B and the component C are preferably added in amounts of 0.01-40 wt. and 0.01-50 wt., respectively. The composition may further be mixed with usually used amounts of conventional components, such as an abrasive, a binder, a thickener and a surfactant.
