PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jack for outrigger having a simple structure of a part to transmit the pressing force of an expansion/contraction cylinder to a pad member (grounding plate) and excellent in the force transmitting efficiency. SOLUTION: A jack 10 for outrigger is configured so that an inner post 12 is movably inserted in axial direction into an outer post 11 and moved in expansion and contraction relative to the outer post 11 by an expansion/ contraction cylinder 15 installed inside the two posts 11 and 12. At the forefront of the inner post 12 in its axial direction, a grounding plate 25 is installed with its head swingable through a joint mechanism 20. The joint mechanism 20 is composed of a U-member 21 attached to the forefront face of the inner post 12 and a counter-U member 23 attached to the grounding plate 25 and engaged with the U-member 21, and the forefront of a cylinder rod 17 is engaged with the inner post 12 and exposed at the forefront face to abut on the counter- U member 23.
