<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily supply safe alkali ion water having antibacterial/sterilizing action and reduced in skin irritation to utilize the same by preparing the same so as to have a specific pH value and a specific range of oxidation-reduction potential. SOLUTION: When alkali ion water having antibacterial activity and useful for applying antibacterial treatment to an article such as clothing, food or a medical instrument and the skin or a mucous membrane is formed, alkali ion water is prepared so as to have pH of 8-below 10 and oxidation-reduction potential of -400 to +100 mV. When this alkali ion water (antibacterial water) is prepared, tap water is heated by a hot water supply device to be introduced into an alkali ion water maker and electrolyzed by applying a DC current across the anode 13 in an acidic water making chamber 11 and the cathode 14 in an alkali ion water making chamber 12, and alkali ion water made in the alkali ion water making chamber 12 is taken out through a partition wall 9 such as a porous filter to be supplied to a bathtub or the like.</p> |
