PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a shift amount of recording and lines and improve a recording speed by dividing a plurality of recording elements to a plurality of blocks and controlling to sequentially drive the recording elements simultaneously in units of blocks when the plurality of elements are to be sequentially driven in a fixed direction to record lines. SOLUTION: An SLED chip of an LED recording head has 1-128 light-emitting parts. In this case, the light-emitting parts are controlled separately via a boundary between a 65th light-emitting part and a 65th light-emitting part. A first through the 65th light-emitting parts are controlled by ϕSa, ϕ1a, ϕ2a, ϕIa and VGAa, and the 65th through a 128th light-emitting parts are controlled by ϕSb, ϕ1b, ϕ2b, ϕIb and VGAb. Control signals ϕSo and ϕ1o of control signals ϕSo, ϕ1o, ϕ2o and ϕIo and image signals ϕDa and ϕDb input to a driver are divided respectively to ϕSb, and ϕ1a and ϕ1b, connected to a current-limiting resistor of the SLED chip to corresponding terminals of the SLED chip. |
