PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition having excellent detergency even against obstinate oil stain containing a large amount of tetrahydrofuran-insoluble components by using a specific glycol ether as a solvent. SOLUTION: The objective composition for obstinate oil stain containing >=15% tetrahydrofuran-insoluble components contains a compound of the formula R-O- (C2H4O)x(C3H6O)y)-H (R is a 5-8C alkyl; (x) is 1-8; (y)is 0-3; the term in }is a polyoxyalkylene chain having oxyethylene and oxypropylene bonded in a random and/or a block shape when (y) is larger than 0). The compound is preferably triethylene glycol monopentyl ether, tetraethylene glycol monocyclohexyl ether or the like. The proportion of the compounded compound is preferably 5-15 wt.%. Preferably an alkali agent is compounded therewith, and monoethanolamine and diethanolamine are preferable as the alkali agent.
