PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain reliable and stable color development by executing metallic plating treatment to the surface of a product composed of an aluminum material, next executing ion plating treatment and forming the nitride, carbide and oxide of metal. SOLUTION: An aluminum material is subjected to press working, casting or the like to produce an aluminum workpiece, the surface of the aluminum workpiece is subjected to surface working such as gloss treatment, satin treatment or the like, and, after that, surface working is executed. After the metallic plating, ion plating treatment is executed, and, final treatment, testing or the like as to the product is executed. Since the ion plating is executed after the contact between aluminum and oxygen is cut off by the metallic plating, and the formation of a passivated film is prevented, an extremely stable coating film having tight adhesion is formed, and, the ion plating capable of exhibiting various colors is executed.
