PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict as much as possible the number of write times to an EEPROM for backing up an exposure amount of a laser. SOLUTION: The apparatus has a laser 301 for exposing a photosensitive body, a control part 302 for driving the laser 301 and an EEPROM 304 where exposure amount data can be read and written. Before the laser starts to drive, the exposure amount data is written to the EEPROM 304 and set to a DA control part 305 of the control part 302. When the exposure amount data in the DA control part 305 is changed while the laser is driving, the change is reflected to the EEPROM 304 after the driving of the laser.
