PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a shift of rules from being conspicuous by recording a part except a joint of short rules with large dots and further overhitting the joint with small dots when short rules are connected to record a rule of a length over a plurality of lines. SOLUTION: A first line is recorded with large dots by nozzles 1-15, and small dots by a nozzle 16. A second line is recorded with large dots by nozzles 1-15 and small dots by nozzles 1 and 16. A third line is recorded with large dots by nozzles 2-15 and small dots by nozzles 1 and 16. Data are transferred for a fourth line and thereafter by shifting the data by one smaller number than the number of nozzles of record dots. A last line completing a length of a rule is recorded with small dots only at an uppermost stage of the record dots. When short rules are connected to record a rule of a length over a plurality of lines, a part where lines are not continuous and shift is rounded, thereby preventing the shift of rules from being conspicuous. A good recording quality can be maintained accordingly.
