PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the cutting of a bar blank so as to be accurately performable in a simple construction, and also to enable it to secure a fine cutting plane. SOLUTION: In this blank cutting device, a cutting knife 5 is constituted by a mounting member 12 to be attached to a driver 6 reciprocating in the orthogonal direction with the feeding direction of a bar blank A, and a two- piece-set pair of holding members 13 and 14 being opposed with each other, wherein both these holding members are pivoted by a pin 15 at the side of one side part, and likewise two link members 20 and 21 are pivoted to both the members by two pins 22 and 23, while respective floating ends of these link members are pivoted with each other by a pin 24. In addition, when the bar blank is held by both these holding members, the pivoted part by the pin 24 is situated on an extension X-X connecting the pivoted parts by the pins 22 and 23, and further, it is constituted so as to be energized at the holding member side beyond the extension by a spring 25 at all times.
