POLYURETHANE COMPOSITION AND ITS SYNTHESIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition having a small increase in viscosity during the synthesis of a urethane prepolymer, a small increase in the viscosity after the synthesis with time and a small increase in the viscosity in thermal environments by including a urethane prepolymer and a phosphine compound. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) 100 pts.wt. of a urethane prepolymer and (B) 0.001-5 pts.wt. of a phosphine compound which is a tertiary phosphine compound in which an alkyl group or an aryl group is preferably bonded to phosphorus atom. The component A is a reactional product prepared by reacting (i) a polyol compound with (ii) a polyisocyanate compound having excessive NCO groups based on OH groups in the component (i) and contains usually 0.5-10 wt.% of the isocyanate groups at the molecular terminal. The composition is obtained by adding the component B during and/or after the synthesis of the component A.
