PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a binder for powder forming, having high binding force, cohesive power or the like, capable of allowing a degreasing step to be finished in a short time, and allowing the ash content after baking to be reduced by including at least one kind selected from an ester of a polyglyoxylic acid, an amidation product of the ester of the polyglyoxylic acid, and a hydration product of the ester of the polyglyoxylic acid. SOLUTION: This binder for powder forming comprises at least one kind selected from a group of an ester of a polyglyoxylic acid, an amidation product of the ester of the polyglyoxylic acid, and a hydration product of the ester of the polyglyoxylic acid, and having 5,000-1,000,000 number average molecular weight. The composition for the powder forming is obtained by mixing the binder for powder forming with a sinterable powder such as a metal, a ceramic and a cermet. The amount of the added binder is preferably 0.1-30 wt.% of that of the powder. The composition for the powder forming is formed into a ceramic green formed compact, and the obtained compact is degreased and baked to provide the sintered compact. |
