PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antifreeze composition capable of preventing a resin pipe of e.g. thermoplastic resin from being deteriorated by a metal ion or chelate compound. SOLUTION: This composition comprises a hydrophilic chelating agent as a metal-inactivating agent. The chelating agent is at least one selected from the group consisting of bivalent, trivalent and tetravalent hydrophilic chelating agents, at least one selected form the group consisting of a polybasic acid or its salt, amino acids, acetyl acetone or its derivative, polyamine, crown ether and azacrown, or at least one selected from the group consisting of a polybasic acid, an alkali metal salt and an alkali earth metal salt of a polybasic acid. |
