LUBRICANT FOR PROCESSING COPPER TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lubricant for processing a copper tube, enabling residual oil in the tube to be decreased at a low cost without subjecting a longer copper tube coil to a special treatment of residual oil removal (e.g. purging treatment) in an annealing furnace, therefore capable of improving the brazing property of the copper tube and capable of preventing burn trough increasing lubricating ability in drawing and rolling, and capable of preventing residual strain after being annealed from affecting a freezing system undesirably. SOLUTION: This lubricant for processing a copper tube includes (A) 70-99.5 wt.% base oil comprising at least one kind selected from the group consisting of polyalkylene glycols of the formula R1-O-(R2-O)n-R3 [wherein, R1 and R3 are each H or an alkyl; R2 is an alkylene; (n) is 10-100] and their alkyl ethers, and (B) 0.5-30 wt.% partially etherified product of a polyhydric alcohol where the valence of the polyhydric alcohol is >=2.
