PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stand for a plant having a cleaning function of the air in a room, capable of miniaturizing the space for installation, and allowing the exchange of the plant to be carried out by extremely simple operation. SOLUTION: This stand for a plant has a flower pot 21 having a water hole 25 at the bottom part, and air holes 26 at the side wall, a water container 15 having an opening for inserting the flower pot 21 at the upper face, and supporting the flower pot 21 in the state in which a space is formed around the inserted flower pot 21 and at the bottom part, a ring-shaped flexible seal 24 having an inner periphery edge or an upper edge keeping contact with the outer periphery side of the inserted and fixed flower pot so as to be air-tightly sealed at the outer periphery or the lower edge at the upper part of the water container 15, an air-intake pipe 16 having the air-intake hole opened at the upper part of the water container 15, an air pipe 9 communicated to the air- intake pipe 16, and a fan 18 for fluidizing the air in the air pipe 9. It is effective that the stand for the plant has a light source for illuminating the plant planted in the flower pot 21 and promoting the photosynthesis thereof. The light source can be used for sterilizing the air discharged into a room.
