PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a composite false-twisted yarn having a shrinkage difference between component yarns, and to provide a false- twisting device suitable for the method. SOLUTION: This method for producing a composite false-twisted yarn comprises winding at least one of yarns on a rotary heater 3 to thermally treat the yarn, doubling at least two the yarns having a temperature difference therebetween and then false-twisting the doubled yarns wherein the yarn Yb on the low temperature side is thermally treated with the yarn Ya on the high temperature side. Therein, the yarn Ya on the high temperature side is substantially not false-twisted just before doubled with the yarn Yb on the low temperature side. The false-twisting device has at least feed rollers 2, a rotary heater 3, a false-twisting rotator 5 and draw roller 6 in the order for traveling the yarns. Therein, a doubling guide 4 is disposed between the rotary heater 3 and the false-twisting rotator 5.
