TREATMENT OF MOLDING OF CYCLIC OLEFIN-BASED RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a molding of a specific cyclic olefin- based resin with a liquid hydrocarbon-based compound, to soften or fluidize the resin, reduce volume of the molding, and easily recover the resin from the molding. SOLUTION: This method treats a molding of (A) at least one of (i) an ethylene/cyclic olefin random copolymer, obtained by copolymerizing ethylene and a cyclic olefin shown by formula or II [(k) and (n) are each 0 or 1; (m), (p) and (q) are each 0 or more; (r) and (s) are each 0 to 2; R1 to R18, Ra and Rb are each H, a halogen or the like; R21 to R39 are each an alkoxy, aliphatic hydrocarbon or the like], (ii) a ring-opened polymer or copolymer of a cyclic olefin, shown by formula I or II, and (iii) a hydrogenation product of the component (ii) with (B) a liquid hydrocarbon compound, e.g. limonene, to soften or fluidize the cyclic olefin-based resin.
