<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for imparting water-solubility as well as improving hydrolysis resistance by condensing a dicarboxylic acid compound and another compound of a different kind which is reactive with the acid compound. SOLUTION: A resin composition is obtained by condensing a dicarboxylic acid compound represented by formula 1 (wherein X is a hydroxyl group or a halogen group; Ar is a divalent group containing an aromatic group; R1 and R2 are each an alkyl group, an aromatic group, or an alicyclic group) and a compound selected from a diol compound of an ethylene glycol or the like, a diamine compound of ethylene diamine or the like, and an amino alcohol compound of 2-amino ethanol or the like, the selected compound being reactive with the acid compound. The dicarboxylic acid compound is obtained by using an aromatic compound having two hydroxyl groups, reacting the two hydroxyl groups with a halogenated carboxylate to form an etherified dicarboxylate, and thereafter hydrolyzing the resulting product with an acid or an alkali.</p> |
