PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a knitted fabric with excellent windbreaking and thermal insulation performance, having puffy feeling, soft touch and lightweight feeling without impairing the characteristics inherent therein, therefore suitable as a piece of autumn/winter clothing. SOLUTION: This knitted fabric is composed of heteroshrink composite multifilament yarns >=5% in thermal shrinkage difference; wherein the low- shrink constituent multifilament yarns is composed of single filaments each having a modified cross-section shape >=1.2 in peripheral length ratio Lr. This knitted fabric has a cover factor of 15,000-60,000 and air permeability of <=70 cc/cm2/sec.
