The invention comprises the propylene-(1,2)-bis dithiocarbamates of magnesium, strontium, nickel and cobalt. The salts are prepared by reacting propylene diamine with carbon disulphide in the presence of a strong base and then treating the product with a salt of the appropriate metal. The compounds are used as fungicides. Specification 889,675, U.S.A. Specification 2,317,765 and Austrian Specification 193,891 are referred to.ALSO:Fungicidal compositions contain one or more of the propylene-(1,2) bis-dithiocarbamates of magnesium, strontium, nickel and cobalt, in admixture with a solid or liquid diluent or extender. Suitable solid carriers are chalk, silica gel, kieselguhr, talc and bentonite. The preferred liquid diluent is water, but since the salts are mainly insoluble, an auxiliary solvent may be used, e.g. acetone or dimethyl formamide to which may also be added a non-ionic emulsifier, wetting, adhesive, or solid formulation aids.
