PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent troubles such as curving of a double-tube type straw by allowing the inner pipe of the straw to slide smoothly relative to an outer tube and to ensure suction so that the effect of eliminating sounds is doubled. SOLUTION: A pair of ventilating grooves 10', 10' extending longitudinally are formed longitudinally in the general part of the outer tube 8' of a straw 2' into which an inner tube 9' is fitted, in such a manner that the ventilating grooves 10', 10' are used for drinking with the intervention of narrow projecting parts and occupy half or less of the cross-sectional outer peripheral part of the outer tube 8'. The center angle between the centerlines of the ventilating grooves 10' is in the range of 30 to 90 degrees, and when the straw 2' shrinks the inner tube 9' is pressed against one side by the pair of ventilating grooves 10', 10' in the outer tube 8' so that sliding areas are reduced under a condition in which contact is made among three parts, thus achieving smooth relative sliding motion with little friction resistance. Therefore, the inner and outer tubes slide smoothly during expansion and contraction and the effect of eliminating sounds is doubled during suction.
