PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically remove a closing bottle cap and to discharge residual liquid by a method wherein the bottle cap of a PET bottle is set, facing downward in the perpendicular direction, and the outer circumferential face of a specified bottle cap is made available for being caught. SOLUTION: This bottle cap extraction device discriminates presence or absence of bottle caps at an assortment process, and a PET bottle closed with a cap is delivered with its top facing downward in the perpendicular direction, and the bottle cap is inserted to a specified depth, slightly turned clockwise as seen in the planate view, into claw members 4 which are provided so as to swing respectively round each of support pivots 3 in a required number provided in projection at the end face 2a of a cylindrical body 2. Then, an outside driving device 9 turns the cylindrical body 2 clockwise as seen in the planate view and works at the same time in the direction of removing the bottle cap, and the bottle cap is extracted therewith. Thus, whether the bottle is closed with the cap or opened is automatically discriminated, and those under the state of being opened are delivered to the next stage of process, and for those under the state of being closed, the bottle caps are removed certainly at the bottle cap extraction device and furthermore, liquid remaining in the bottles are discharged.
