PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the loss of cleaned gas purity caused by the incursion of a part of exhaust gas generated after the combustion of an air-fuel mixture in the cylinder of a 2-cycle engine into an air-fuel mixture supplied to a next cylinder in a cleaned air passage from a cleaned air port. SOLUTION: In a cylinder side cleaned air passage 10a provided with a main cleaned air port 5a in a side away from an exhaust port 4 in its upper end, the inner peripheral surface of a cylinder 1 is formed by a vertical recessed groove having no cylinder walls between it and the outer peripheral surface of a piston 2, the cylinder side cleaned air passage 10a below the piston 2 is exposed in the cylinder 1 when the piston 2 reaches an upper dead center, and thus an air-fuel mixture containing exhaust gas is exchanged to a fresh air-fuel mixture in the cylinder 1.
