PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the strength of a front attaching part of a suspension member. SOLUTION: In this car body structure of an automobile, a seat cross member 4 is arranged widthwise of a vehicle in the rear part of a front floor panel while a pair of left and right rear side members 2 are respectively arranged in rear of both ends parts of the seat cross member 4, a rear center cross member 3 is laid spanning between the rear parts of the rear side members, the left and right ends of the front end part of a suspension member 11 are attached to the front parts of the rear side members 2, the left and right parts of the rear end part of the suspension member 11 are attached to the rear center cross member 3, and a pair of left and right stays 16 is provided to connect the suspension member 11 in the vicinity of its front end attaching part, to the seat cross member 4 at positions slightly inward of the both ends of the seat cross member 11.
