PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fractionate a heavy component and suppress change in the specific gravity of a discharge gas and reduce influence on a piping equipment and reduce operation cost by cooling the discharge gas in a prescribed storage tank and liquefying the heavy component contained in the discharge gas. SOLUTION: When a heavy component having a high boiling point is fractionated by cooling a discharge gas from a tank 1 in order to make the specific gravity of the discharge gas from the tank 1 from which liquefied gas is removed small, the discharge gas is cooled by passing the discharge gas through storage tanks 2, 3 and 4 in which the liquefied gas is stored at a low temperature. Thereby, the heavy component contained in the discharged gas is liquefied to fractionate the heavy component. Furthermore, it is preferable that the heavy component contained in the discharged gas is liquefied in every storage tanks 2, 3 and 4 by passing the discharged gas through plural storage tanks 2, 3 and 4 to cool the discharge gas and also it is preferable that the changes in atmospheres of gas layers 5, 6 and 7 due to passage of the discharge gas are suppressed by jetting the liquefied gas to be stored toward gas layers 5, 6 and 7 in the storage tanks 2, 3 and 4.
