SUBSTANCE: driving axle for road-building machine has central part with housing accommodating main bevel pair with circular tooth, differential, disk brakes in oil bath, planetary reduction gears, each with crown and sun gears, planet pinions and carrier, and axle beams with axle-shafts connected with housing of central part by one end. Axle-shafts are relieved from bending moment. Crown and sun gears and planet pinions of planetary reduction gear are made for replacement with gears with changed number of teeth at constant design of carrier. Each beam can be made for mounting on free end of wheel and wheel balancer accommodating wheel drive inside. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities of driving axle. 3 cl, 2 dwg
