PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the entire appearance from being damaged by extending the peripheries of an opening and a sub-panel to the front edge part, front-seat passenger-side edge part, side edge part, and lateral center part of an instrument panel body. SOLUTION: A number of locking claws to be engaged with an instrument panel body on the edge of an opening 20 are formed on the peripheral part inner surface of a sub-panel 13. The sub-panel 13 is engagingly locked to the instrument panel body by the locking claws. An opening capable of swelling the air bag of an air bag unit 18 is formed on the front-seat passenger side of the instrument panel body. The front edge of the opening 20 is extended along a ridge line 11e that is the rear edge of a front wall 11a, the rear edge thereof is extended along a front-seat passenger side edge part (rear edge) 21, and one side edge thereof is extended along the side edge of the instrument panel body. Since most of the front-seat passenger-side part of the instrument panel is formed into the sub-panel 13, the entire appearance is never damaged. |
