PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a paste-coated paper for a stamp, hardly causing blocking and curl even if the environmental condition of temperature and moisture is changed, having a constant initial adhesive force, and capable of being peeled again under a prescribed condition, and further to provide the production method thereof. SOLUTION: This production process of a paste-coated paper for coating and drying a paste liquid containing 45-49% polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) having 300-400 averaged polymerization degree and 88±2 (mol/%) saponification degree, 45-49% polyvinyl acetate emulsion(PVAc emulsion) containing no plasticizer added thereto and having 10-15 deg.C lowest film-forming temperature, and 2-10% sorbitol on the back face of a coated paper or one face of a base paper, pressurizing and finishing the obtained paper with the paste by subjecting the paper to a calender.
