PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-diffusing resin composition excellent in light transmission and light diffusion and a molded article excellent in light transmission and light diffusion and having a good texture in appearance by an industrially easy preparation method at a low preparation cost. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises a transparent thermoplastic resin, a composite silicone particle obtained by coating a silicone rubber particle with an average particle diameter of 0.1-50μm with a polyorganosilisesquioxane resin and an inorganic light diffusing agent with an average particle diameter of 0.01-20μm. The contents of the silicone particle and the inorganic light diffusing agent in the thermoplastic resin composition are preferably 0.0003-30 wt.% and 0.0001-3 wt.%, respectively.
