PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a leak and form a casing more compactly by providing a packing interposed in belt shape along between a lower side external peripheral wall part of a heat exchanger main unit and an opposed lower side internal peripheral wall part of a casing to prevent the leak between each bottom wall. SOLUTION: A heat exchanger main unit B comprises a core part 10 for a heat exchange, and a hot water inlet/outlet side cylindrical tank 20, 30 in upper/lower both side parts. Here, the hot water inlet side cylindrical tank 20 is positioned on the lower side and vertically provided when the heat exchanger main unit B is received in a casing. The heat exchanger main unit B is further provided with a plurality of belt-shaped packings 40 to 80, and the lower side packing 40 is fixed in U shape along each wall surface to the hot water inlet side cylindrical tank 20. In addition, a right side packing 50, both upper side packings 60, 70, and both left side packings 80 are provided. In this way, the casing can be compactly formed by decreasing its height, to cope with requirement for space saving.
