PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder capable of forming a beautiful screen by providing an electrode near a discharge port of a recording head, preventing a 'satellite', a 'mist', a 'twist' or the like by applying a voltage to the electrode, and further preventing a deterioration of an image by preventing application of a voltage to an ink for a long time. SOLUTION: A first electrode 301 is provided at a site of a discharge port 1203 of a recording head 1113, and an applying voltage generator 302 for applying a voltage to the electrode 301 is provided. The voltage is applied to the electrode 301 to store a sub-ink droplet 1205 generated upon discharging of a main ink droplet 1204 in the head 1113 without flying by a repelling force of the electrode 301 and a charge applied to an ink 1202 through the electrode 301 so that the droplet 1204 may not be detoured to a periphery of the port 1203.
