PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight and inexpensive fiber reinforced resin material satisfying the characteristic demand of a product or a half-finished product and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Fibers 12 being a reinforcing material preformed into a sheet shape with predetermined thickness are arranged on upper and under surfaces of a filling chamber 24 and, after lower molds 21, 22 are closed, the filling chamber 24 in a filling mold 20 is filled with an epoxy resin 11 through a filling port 25. At this time, the epoxy resin 11 is charged in the filling chamber 24 while it passes through the fibers 12 arranged to the upper surface of the filling chamber 24 through the filling port 25. A fiber reinforced resin material 10 is formed so that the fibers 12 being the reinforcing material are unevenly distributed on the upper and under surface parts of the resin 11 of a matrix in a laminar state in predetermined thickness.
