PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject apparatus and method capable of molding an unvulcanized tire of high quality at a low cost with high productivity. SOLUTION: Two freely diameter-expansible and width-regulable molding drums 1A, 1B for molding an inner liner rubber member and a carcass ply member into a band member 10 are provided and a means for alternately replacing the positions of the molding drums 1A, 1B to two different molding stations is provided. By this constitution, the band member 10 is alternately molded on two molding drums 1A, 1B at a molding station on a worker side and expanded into troidal green case on the molding drums 1A, 1B on a non-worker side to be laminated to a ring-shaped united member of a belt member and a tread rubber member.
