PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably cultivate herb sod so as to warrant the quality of the herb sod to be able to be applied to various places of the grass by controlling cultivating conditions all year around and by making it easy to be cut into turves by a specific method. SOLUTION: This method comprises (A) the control of cultivating conditions for herb plants 2 all year around to enhance their branching and growth of stolon and to increase their planting density and (B) the laying of sheet to make it easy to cut herb sod into turves so as to be able to be applied to the grass such as a sports stadium, an athletic field, a park, housing or the like. The control of cultivating conditions of herb plants 2 is carried out by at least one kind selected from the group consisting of mowing, soil (or sand)- topdressing, soil boreholes and vertically cutting out of shallow rhizosphere. The sheet is preferably mesh.
