PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute inter-vehicle control without causing even an excessive increase of a processing load, by realizing the proper inter-vehicle control in accordance with an operating condition of the leading vehicle while bodily sensation of behavior of a self vehicle in accordance with changing operation can be easily given to an occupant, in the case of performing the operation changing a target inter-vehicle physical quantity. SOLUTION: Target acceleration is calculated by using a value multiplying an inter-vehicle deviation by a prescribed arithmetic constant Kderr and a value multiplying a relative speed by a prescribed arithmetic constant KVr. These arithmetic constants Kderr, KVr are ordinarily 1, but for a prescribed time from when a change is set, the arithmetic constant Kderr for the inter- vehicle deviation is increased to [1+αderr] also the arithmetic constant KVr for the relative speed is increased to [1αVr] when a driver operates a setting inter-vehicle change switch to set a target inter-vehicle time changed. For example, after reforming of the arithmetic constants Kderr, KVr doubled the ordinary value, the target acceleration after changing the target inter-vehicle time large rises up as compared with that before reforming, so as to easily give bodily sensation to the driver as vehicle behavior.
