PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enlarging observation device constituted so that an image being in focus can be obtained all over the area of an object to be observed and desired to be observed and the stereoscopic shape of the object to be observed can be easily grasped from the image being in focus. SOLUTION: This enlarging observation device is provided with a microscope lens barrel 7 obtaining the optical enlarged image of the object to be observed, an image pickup device 8 picking up the image of the optical enlarged image, the Z-axis feeding mechanism 11 of the lens barrel 7 being as the movement means changing a focusing position with respect to the object to be observed, a two-dimensional image data synthesis part 35 extracting a focusing point area being in focus from the plural pieces of image data picked up at different focus positions, synthesizing the respective focusing point areas and producing two-dimensional image data being in focus over the whole area, a picture display device 51 displaying the two-dimensional image data and a height information holding part 36 being as a stereoscopic information display means displaying the relative height information of the depth direction of a position designated by the two-dimensional image data displayed by the display device 51.
