PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a disk being rotated by inertia from flying out when a power source is turned off and an upper cover is opened in a game machine, a CD player and the like. SOLUTION: A power source switch 16 is constituted of two-throw switch having two contacts 22, 24. When a power source switch 16 is turned on, the contact 22 is turned on, the contact 24 is turned off, driving voltage is supplied to a spindle motor 12, and the spindle motor 12 is driven. When the power source switch 16 is turned off, the contact 22 is turned off, the contact 24 is turned on, power source terminals of the spindle motor 12 is short-circuited, and a short brake is applied to the spindle motor.
