Novel system which comprises, amongst other elements, a novel device for metering out the mixture which will subsequently be sprayed onto the embankment using a guniting device. When the materials to be mixed are of low density, the guniting device is replaced with a rotary, bladed valve. Both the guniting device and the rotary bladed valve are supplemented with a nozzle capable of spraying the treated material onto the electro- welded grid which is incorporated into the embankment before the concrete sets. Lastly, the assembly is accompanied by an irrigation system, and elements are added to the materials used to form the plant covering which will confer on the latter moisture-absorbent properties. <IMAGE>
