The process comprises the arrangement of an alignment consisting of multiple floating bodies connected to the sea bed, being close together and extending to an area in which it is desired to lessen the swell, each one of the floating bodies having means for receiving the swell and deflecting it, reducing its power. The means for reducing the swell are achieved by the setting-up of deflector zones on the surface of the floats, which zones force the swell to rise with respect to the horizontal plane, partially converting its kinetic energy into potential energy. <IMAGE>
