PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence and growth of dark spots by efficiently catching moisture with Portland cement having little toxicity. SOLUTION: An anode 3 is formed on a substrate 2 serving as a base section, an organic layer 4 made of an organic compound containing a luminescent layer is laminated on the anode 3, and a cathode 5 is formed on the organic layer 4 to obtain this organic EL element 1. A sealing member 6 is fixed to the peripheral portion of the substrate 2 by a sealant 7 to form an envelope 8 kept airtight inside. Portland cement 9A made of powder is stored in the recess 6a of the sealing member 6 and is covered with a sealing member 10 passing moisture, and it adsorbs the residual moisture in the envelope 8 infiltrating via the sealing member 10 and the moisture from the outside. |
