PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display device, in which bonding property of an adhesive sealing material which bonds both substrates can be improved and deterioration due to infiltration of impurities such as water into the liquid crystal material can be prevented. SOLUTION: A TFT substrate 10 on which TFTs are formed is adhered with a counter electrode substrate 30 having color filters 31, a protective film 33, a light-diffusing layer 34, counter electrodes 35 and a alignment film 36 formed on the TFT substrate 10 side of the substrate 30 with an adhesive sealing material 24 on the periphery of both substrates. The light-diffusing layer 34 is formed only in the inside of the region, where the adhesive sealing material 24 is applied.
