PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-developable photosensitive material capable of obtaining superior photographic performance regardless of storage environment conditions and having ultrahigh contrast adapted to photographic printing plate formation and good in a state of coating surface. SOLUTION: This heat-developable photosensitive material is provided on a support with an image forming layer containing at least, a nonphotosensitive silver salt, photosensitive silver halide, a reducing agent, and a nucleator, and on this layer a protective layer, the protective layer and the image forming layer contain a polymer latex binder and the protective layer contains a hydrophilic polymer in an amount of 0.2-20 weight % of the polymer latex, and the image forming layer contains the hydrophilic polymer in an amount of 1-30 weight % of the polymer latex binder.
