PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal cell which maintains stable function for long periods, even if transparent resin substrates are used. SOLUTION: Relating to a liquid crystal cell 21 where two panel substrates 22A, 22B, each having a transparent electrode 27 and an alignment layer 29 laminatedly formed on a transparent resin substrate 23 respectively are placed facing opposite to each other, and a liquid crystal 25 is enclosed inbetween, the cell is characterized in that the alignment layer 29 is a solvent vaporized polyimide resin consisting of a polymer formed from a cycloalkane ring- containing acid anhydride and a diamine and the liquid crystal 25 is a nematic liquid crystal containing a fluorocyanoester based compound. |
