<p>A pressure filter system (500) employs a screw-conveyor system (502) for moving metal concentrate in the context of a pressure filter system. More particularly, a system for filtering and conveying metal concentrate includes a pressure filter (102) for producing metal concentrate from a metal slurry bath, a trough (506) configured to receive the metal concentrate produced by the pressure filter (102), and a helical screw (504) positioned within said trough for conveying the metal concentrate axially along the trough (506), wherein the flighting of the helical screw (504) does not contact said trough (506) during operation. The system further includes a screw drive and control means for controlling the speed and overall operation of the helical screw (504). In this way, a high reliability, low maintenance pressure filter system is realized.</p> |
