PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a device without deteriorating display quality by arranging at least one nonluminescence region in series in the longitudinal direction of a plurality of rod-like light sources folded adjacently to one side face of a luminescence region, and arranging the luminescence region to face the light incidence face of a translucent plate. SOLUTION: A fluorescent tube 2a is folded into a C-shape so that nonluminescence regions C at both ends adjoin one side face of a luminescence region B. A plurality of fluorescent tubes 2a are arranged in series in the longitudinal direction of the fluorescent tubes 2a near the light incidence face 1a of a light guide plate 1 so that the luminescence regions B are arranged to face the light incidence face 1a of the light guide plate 1 and the nonluminescence regions C are located on the opposite side to the light incidence face 1a. The light guide plate 1 is a translucent plate transmitting the light introduced from the light incidence face 1a and discharging it from a light radiation face 1b, and it is made of an acrylic resin material. |
