<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize coding causing little deterioration in image quality in the case of tandem connection of coders and decoders. SOLUTION: A coder that encodes video data is provided with a demultiplexer circuit 106 that extracts information denoting a picture type designated in the past coding processing applied to video data from the video data and with a coding circuit 108 that encodes the video data and controls coding so that the video data are coded by the same picture type as that in the past coding processing on the basis of information denoting the picture type.</p> |
