TERMINAL HOLDING MECHANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector having a terminal holding mechanism whereby the mounted ends of terminals when handled are prohibited from being pulled out of a housing. SOLUTION: An electric connector 10 has a insulating housing 12 having a deformation 28 formed with opposed walls 20 having inner faces 26. The housing 12 is mounted with a plurality of terminals 36 whose held portions 42 are spaced from each other along at least one of the opposed walls 20 and exposed inwardly thereof. A plurality of ribs 46 are protruded inwardly from at least one of the side walls 20 between the held portions 42 of the terminals 36 spaced from each other. At least one of the side walls of the ribs 46 are superimposed o the side edges of the held portions 42 of the terminals 36 for trapping the held portions 42 on at least one of the side walls 20 of the housing 12.
