PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately prevent any adverse influence accompanied by the use of two or more modes in an electronic camera having a validity/invalidity discrimination mode for discriminating and recording image data whose photographic state is satisfactory from among the image data of plural frames. SOLUTION: This electronic camera is provided with an image pickup means 12, recording means 14 and 19 of image data, photographing evaluating means 14 and 18 for evaluating the validity/invalidity of the photographic state of the image data, mode selecting means 14 for setting/releasing a validity/ invalidity discrimination mode, consecutive shooting mode, and light emission mode by an outside operation, and for deciding a photographic sequence, and photographing controlling means 14 for controlling the image pickup means and the recording means according to the photographic sequence, and for executing photographing. When at least two modes are overlapped, the use of those modes can be prevented by 'inhibiting the acceptance of the outside operation', or 'automatically releasing other one mode', or 'not by reflecting mode setting on the photographic sequence' by the mode setting means. |
