PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device convenient for inspection or the like by stopping the rotation of a magnetic disk within a short time. SOLUTION: This magnetic disk device for reading/writing data from/to a magnetic disk rotated by a motor 1 is provided with a short-circuiting means for short-circuiting a power line 3 for supplying driving power used to rotate the motor 1 at the time of power cutoff. The short-circuiting means connects a load resistor to the power line 3 for specified time from the time of power cutoff, and thus the power line 3 is short-circuited after the passage of specified time.
